How did you meet?
I got given Gideon’s mobile number when I first moved to New Zealand through a mutual friend. When we first met each other it was on the door step of Gideon’s house in Ponsonby.
I had arrived for a house party that unfortunately had already finished. I stayed for a little bit to have a conversation with him and his housemates and then left. Gideon had said to me, that was the night that he knew I was going to be his future wife.
When and where did you get married?
We got married at St Andrew's Church in Matakana on Saturday 6th April 2019
What was the theme/aesthetic of your big day?
We had originally planned for our wedding at a different location but that cancelled on us only a few weeks before the wedding. Our theme was originally a Garden Attire and we decided to keep this for our new venues. The ladies turned up looking beautiful in sun dresses and there were some floral suit pants for men. There was lots of colour which made the wet day look so bright.
What was the biggest source of inspiration while planning your wedding?
My biggest source of inspiration was bohemian style. I have always loved that rustic look with a few pops of colour.
The most memorable moment from your day:
The most memorable moment was seeing my man down the end of the aisle, I know how a lot of people would say that, however I had so many butterflies during the morning. Once I saw him down the end of the aisle with his big cheeky smile I knew that nothing else in that moment mattered.
The biggest hit on the dance floor was:
All my guests were asked a song that they would want to dance to, funnily enough everyone jumped up and danced to Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus. It was a very funny moment.
We honeymooned in:
Samoa, we stayed at this beautiful resort called Sinalei Reef Resort. If anyone gets to go to Samoa, I highly recommend this resort.
Did you always have an idea in mind of what you wanted your dress to look like?
I had originally wanted a specific dress in Melbourne. Basically my dress was the same shape but Trish added on ideas and material that I could have never imagined. It was so perfect.
